The Township of Bonnechere Valley is a rural
municipality located in Renfrew County, a rural county in
Eastern Ontario. Bonnechere Valley has approximately 1,700
septic tank systems within the municipality.
As there are no facilities capable of
handling large volumes of septic tank sewage waste in
Renfrew County, the municipality had to have the sewage
waste trucked to an environmental centre approximately 90
minutes away.
Based on the review of all reasonable
alternatives to provide a low cost and environmentally sound
solution to sewage waste treatment, Bonnechere Valley opted
to develop a biosolids and septage management facility using
the Geotube®
container solution.
