Processing Plant Waste Dewatering

Bishop Water Technologies has used the Geotube® solution for the dewatering of fish processing waste (including blood, fish parts, lipids), and develop dewatering process with Geotube® containers.

Dewatering fish processing waste was one of the largest tests the Geotube® solution had faced, and it passed with flying colors.

By first allowing the solids drop out over a gravity flow separator, liquid waste is then directed into a homogenization tank. The pH is rigorously tested when required. Polymer is injected into feed line, then passes through a mixing chamber en route to the Geotube® container.

The Geotube® solution can replace Fused Air Floatation (DAF) systems. DAF systems have a high capital and operating cost. The Geotube® dewatering system allows for efficient treatment and retains compostable nutrients. 

The results of the dewatered effluent are impressive:

Solids removal:  97%
BOD reduction:  80%
Nitrogen capture: 92%
Oils and fats removal:  97%.
