Cage Waste Removal Text:

The Geotube® container can be used with a special mortality retrieval system called a Lift Up system, to gather unconverted feed, as well as fish feces. A pump is used, via remote control to extract the waste. The cage waste is then pumped from the Lift Up collection system to a floating containment tank. Once the containment tank is filled and returns to shore, the collected waste is then pumped into the Geotube® container. As the cage waste is pumped to the Geotube® container it is conditioned with a polymer in order to separate the liquid and the solids. The effluent filtering through the Geotube® container is released back to the ocean and valuable nutrients are retained in the Geotube® container.

The Geotube® solution has proven to be effective in terms of water quality and nutrients removal when used for cage waste removal:

Solids removed 95%

90+ % Phosphorous

70+ % Nitrogen

Geotube® dewatering technology produces  a clean, clear effluent water to be returned back to the ocean environment.
